The underlying science is well-established. Our prime advantage is our unique sensor technology. Through a combination of special sensors, complimentary optics, smart processors, power solutions, weight, size and cost reductions, we have crafted a world-first, Agtech instrument for agricultural use.
We are expanding affordability through economies of scale and in turn widespread adoption especially for less affluent but populated regions such as India, South East Asia, South America, Africa as well as China and Japan, where small farmers form the agricultural backbone.
Farmers will have access to critical information normally out of reach in terms of cost to provide them with both the Normalised-Difference-Vegetation-Index (NDVI to determine general plant health) and the Normalised-Difference-Water-Index (NDWI plant water stress level).
Collectively, the ability of AgTell to measure both NDVI and NDWI and to translate the data that leads to a diagnosis of what the plant or crop needs e.g. fertilisers or water, will be unprecedented at the price points proposed. This will significantly broaden the addressable market.
First to market. Our prime mover and unfair advantage are that existing competitors rely on COTS sensors and subsystems, whereas Magic Wavelength produces its own proprietary sensor.
Although alternatives are available in the current market, such as satellite data and hyperspectral and VIS/NIR band instruments, they are significantly more costly and out of reach to smaller, less vast farming communities in regions across the globe.
There are over 570 million farms globally and 42 million people in agriculture and cultivation in Asia alone.
The business strategy is to develop a fully integrated drone/sensor platform providing vital spatial crop information at the lowest $/Km2 of farmland.
Our low-cost product will open the massive non-OECD markets and take market share from the competitors that offer remote sensing NDVI solutions to the wealthier OECD nations. The Magic Wavelength is that we will offer affordable products that can also measure other useful vegetation parameters (such as NDWI) at the lowest $/Km2.
