Consumers around the world love growing plants whether it’s indoor or outdoor, and increasingly, we are growing plants for food such as herbs, vegetables and fruit. At a well-placed price point, PlantTell helps improve plant health, and reduce wastage from all those failed attempts! Think of the dollars we would all save in not only the cost of plants but in over fertilising!
When placed on an indoor or outdoor plant leaf, PlantTell will immediately indicate if the plant needs fertiliser.
Leveraging science that has been tested for over 30 years, PlantTell is able to diagnose plant health by non-invasively measuring the plant leaf’s reflection of specific light colours (or wavelengths determining Normalised Difference Vegetation Index – NDVI or plant health). This information can then be recorded and shared through the Magic Wavelength/ PlantTell APP creating an active and engaged social community of gardening enthusiasts.
This same instrument can be marketed to the horticultural sector providing the same valuable data.
No competition. There are no direct competitors who can provide a pre-emptive assessment of plant health which in turn prevents plants from going into stress before showing any visible deterioration. We will be a world’s first consumer solution.
There are over 1.5 billion households around the world, with plant sales of over USD 7.2 billion. Based on a USA study, 77% participate in gardening.
In Australia, there are over 10 million households. Half of Australians are gardeners and 52% of Australian households are growing some of their food – that is 4.7 million households and increasing!
Preliminary consumer research has been conducted on price points and the likelihood of purchase. Our online survey has indicated that 72% will use a product such as PlantTell.
Our strategy will see PlantTell launched first in Australia as pilot before a phased expansion globally.
